WINTECARE at the diamond league in Zurich

Taking part in an event of the calibre of a Diamond League is always an exciting experience for our team of specialists. In addition to the opportunity for travelling and getting to know lots of different places and people, for our technical committee it is a chance to test their skills while supporting world champions and professional athletes from various sporting disciplines. This is highly satisfying as it is an opportunity that not all therapists get.

At the same time, our specialists are aware that they are not going on holiday, but will have to sustain long treatment sessions from the early morning until late at night. This does not scare them though, they are always ready to accept any new challenge that WINTECARE throws at them.

This time we set off to Zurich, the heart of German Switzerland, a fabulous, lively city that, like every year, hosts the Weltklasse, the last but one Diamond League meeting of the season.
Our team comprising Claudio Freti, Fabio Bertenghi, senior specialist and Jacobo Rodriguez Sanz, backup specialist, worked for 3 consecutive days, managing to offer support to a total of 20 athletes in 32 treatment sessions.

During these international scope events, we offer our clients the chance to participate as back-up specialists, namely therapists assisting the senior specialists. In this way, the client gets an opportunity for a closer look at the techniques applied during competition preparation, setting of the various recovery treatments based on the athletes’ specialities and how to use feedback from the sportspeople to personalise their overall treatment. In other words, a unique chance for further learning and for being part of a top professional sporting environment!

As always we would like to thank all the athletes who availed of our treatment room and congratulate Sandi Morris, Fred Kerley, Yasmani Copello, Marie Josée Ta Lou, Natoya Goule, Elijah Manangoi and Timothy Cheruiyot on their results.

In the meantime, another specialist had already set off for Brussels for the AG Memorial Van Damme. Stay tuned!
